Martha Jane Cleland Martha Jane Cleland, 90, of Portersville died Thursday at Passavant Retirement Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 4, 1921, and was the youngest child of the late Scott and Zelda (Zeigler) Cleland.

Born and raised on the 200-year family farm in Muddy Creek Township, Portersville, Martha worked beside her brother, Robert J. Cleland, on the farm. Martha was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Portersville where she taught Sunday school, participated in Presbyterian Women and served as mission treasurer for many years.
